About us

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, 7pm, early November 2017. We’re sitting there, the 4 of us, with 2 laptops, 3 tablets, and a smartphone, trying to figure out where the hell we’re gonna stay tomorrow night. Not in Ho Chi Minh, mind you; we had a bus early the next morning to Mui Ne on the south Vietnamese coast, and still nothing booked.

And not just Mui Ne either. We had another bus to Dalat in the mountains a few days later. And then Nha Trang, back to Ho Chi Minh, flights to Cebu in the Philippines, ferries to Bohol, Dumaguete, Siquijor, Camiguin, back to Bohol (different part), up to Cebu (same part), 2 days in Manila, 3 in Istanbul, deciding to cross Italy from Milano to Sicily, then heading to Bulgaria for a little beach break before finally ending in India.

If you’re dizzy reading this paragraph, imagine how it felt to plan.

Introductions are probably in order at this point. Hello, my name is Noam, and I grew up in hotels. Hundreds of them. Some context: my mother is a digital nomad. I (and my two little sisters) started traveling with her in 2010, when I was also 10. Finding where to stay has always been a collaborative effort for the 4 of us, and that evening in Vietnam really made us pull all the stops.

We didn’t book the whole trip in advance, of course, at the time we only knew as far as Istanbul. But that’s when the idea for Where To Stay first came to me. We’d already booked so many hotels in so many places, it was second nature. We knew all the red flags, how to find the best deals, how to read location maps, what review keywords to look for – everything to make sure the trip went smoothly. To us, this wasn’t a vacation; we were choosing temporary homes.

And because of that, I understand exactly what you’re going through.

How confusing it can get. How many tabs you open. How many nights you spend comparing maps, reviews, photos… hoping you won’t regret the choice.

I know how tiring it can be. And how important it is. The right location changes everything. The right hotel changes everything. These aren’t small decisions; they shape your entire trip.

So,

Here at Where To Stay, I’ve taken 15 years of hotel-booking experience, for a family, for a couple, and solo. And put it all in one place for everyone to benefit. I’ve personally stayed at many of the hotels recommended here, and I can attest that they’re both great stays and great value for money.

Wherever you’re going next, I’ve got you.
